Temple Of God? Or Whitewashed Tomb?

 

1st Corinthians 3:16-17

"Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are."

The scriptures that I am going to contrast here are similar to the wheat and tares parable. The word is telling us that we can be a temple of God by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, or we can be a white washed tomb, like the Pharisees of Jesus' day, and false prophets and pastors of today!

You can look good on the outside, dress nice, smell good, skin beautiful and fresh, but inside your heart you can be full of every unclean thing! Evil spirits, strongholds in the mind, have a lying tongue and be a tool used by the devil!

Or you can have God's Spirit indwelling your heart and be full of light, love, peace, joy, all the fruits of the Spirit, and shining and glowing from the inside out! You can be a tool used by God for His kingdom and His purposes, to do good works for His glory!

1st Corinthians 6:18-20

"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."

The time is coming when people will finally learn that the church building is NOT the church, and realize that your body IS the temple of God, IF so be that His Spirit dwells within you!

We must also realize and understand that everytime you lay with a man or woman outside of marriage you are joining yourself to that person! It's a spiritual and physical act of intimacy, and this how soul ties are made and you become more oppressed by evil, everytime you sin in this way!

Jesus told the Pharisees multiple times, that you can look good on the outside with your religious robes and clothing, but inwardly, in the heart and mind, you are full of dead men's bones! Totally Unclean!

Matthew 23:25-28

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness."

The same thing is happening today! Instead of Pharisees, insert the title of Pastors, False Apostles, and Prophets, who say they have been sent by God to lead, feed and shepherd the sheep of the Lord, but many have not! These are the wolves in sheep's clothing!

Which one are you? A temple or a tomb?

Examine yourself and ask the Lord Jesus to reveal exactly which one you are!

And THIS Gospel Of The Kingdom......

 

Mathew 24:14

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."

God is about to pour out His Spirit and send forth His true apostles and prophets for the last great move that will continue until Jesus returns!

This last great revival will be for the rise and fall of many, there will be a clear separation between those who serve God and those who do not. This time will prepare God's people to face the man of sin, and the implementation of his mark. The people of God all over the world will be united by the Spirit of God and and be a world wide body of Christ!

What did Jesus mean when He said, "And This Gospel Of The Kingdom....?" The same one He preached of course! The message of Jesus was not about His death, burial, and resurrection, that's not what He preached. He said, "Repent For The Kingdom Of Heaven Is At Hand!" Matthew 4:17

He spoke in parables about what? The Kingdom of God! Just read ALL of Matthew chapter 13. 

The Parable of the Sower, The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares, The Parable of the Mustard Seed, The Parable of the Leaven, The Parable of the Hidden Treasure, The Parable of the Pearl of Great Price

The Parable of the Dragnet: Matthew 13:47-50

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

ALL the parables were about the Kingdom of Heaven or God! God is going to gather many people from every nation on earth! The scipture says it in the parable of the dragnet and in the book of Revelation!

Revelation 7:9-14

"After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

What does Gospel mean? Good news! And what is the good news of? The Kindom Of God!

And how do you enter the Kingdom of God? You MUST be born from above! Born of water AND the Spirit!

John 3:1-8

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

The original Greek translation says, unless one is born from above, not again. You must be born from ABOVE! That is baptism in water and the Holy Spirit! Without both you cannot enter or see, the kingdom of God, and therefore your sins will not be forgiven and your soul will not be saved!

Why isn't THIS gospel of the Kingdom being preached throughout the world right now you ask? Jesus answered that question in Matthew 13:10-11

"And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the [a]mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given."

Jesus does NOT give His secrets, hidden truths, and mysteries of the Kingdom of God to everyone! But only His chosen apostles and prophets!! It's all right there in plain text for all to see and read for themselves!!!

Have you entered the Kingdom of God? If not, all the peoples of the earth will soon have an opportunity to hear THIS Gospel of the Kingdom, and make their choice. The times will be so hard and grievous that God will allow people to come to Him all the way until the end. He said Himself, "Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

What will you choose? Jesus or satan? The man of sin and his mark? Life or death? Wailing and knashing of your teeth? Or peace and paradise?

The choice will be yours!

Revival IS Coming Soon!!!

 

The heart cry of the righteous is for God to bring revival! To pour out His Spirit on this earth to unite His people! One Lord, One Faith, One baptism!

I do believe the time is near, even at the door! The Lord has been giving, dreams, visions, and words, telling me over the years that there would be a great outpouring of His Spirit that would bring people outside the four walls of church buildings and into the streets of the world!

Young people, children, elderly, we all need Jesus, we all need a great move of God to set us free from bondage, sin, and corruption. 

The  Lord Jesus has saved His best wine for last, the holy apostles and prophets He will send to preach the gospel of the Kingdom. The last great move before King Jesus returns.

This morning my wife told me she dreamed of a woman inside of a home, and she opened a window outwardly and it was being held open by a chain and a wooden stick, it started to drizzle outside then all of a suddena a great deluge of water filled the whole house! God pouring out His Living Water upon the people!

This was a confirming message from God to me and I will be waiting in expectation of this outpouring and I will be looking forward to being united with the body of Christ and His bride in these last days!

Joel 2:23-27

"Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you—The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame."

Azusa Street Testimonies (Part 4)

 

Healed From Sickness

A sister who has had hemorrhages of the lungs for years was brought very low lately, having seven hard hemorrhages one after another. She was nearing the river and heard her name called three times by a heavenly messenger, but she answered that she did not feel she could say she had fought a good fight and kept the faith. Then the drawing to the other shore ceased. The saints prayed for her, and she arose, and dressed, being perfectly healed. She went to the table and ate her dinner and afterwards played and sang several hymns. She has received the baptism with the Holy Spirit and God has raised her up to preach the whole Gospel.

From Alaska

Bro. H. M. Turney, an evangelist who was in Alaska when he heard of the outpouring of God's Spirit in California, struck out immediately for Los Angeles, and he has received the baptism with the Holy Spirit and gift of tongues. About five minutes before he received the Holy Spirit, while kneeling at the altar, he whispered to Bro. Oyler that the devil was tempting him that the speaking in tongues was not for him. Bro. Oyler replied, "The devil is a liar from the beginning." And immediately the Holy Spirit fell on our brother and he spoke with tongues. Since then he says the Lord waked him up at night speaking and singing in tongues, as He has so many others. A brother from Redlands, seventy-nine years old, came for Divine healing. He was deaf and used ear trumpets. The Lord opened his ears immediately. Then as he arose to go, a brother asked him," "Where are you glasses?" He looked around and said with astonishment, "Why, I can see as well as I ever did." He had had poor eyesight. The Lord also healed him of rheumatism at the same time. "With his stripes we are healed."

Bro. G.A. Cook Receives The Holy Spirit

God has told His children to be witnesses, and the most convincing evidence is testimony of personal knowledge. To endeavor to help those who are sending in letters of inquiry to the Apostolic Faith office, asking how they may receive the Holy Spirit, the writer will state a little of his personal experience in obtaining this pearl of great price, the baptism with the Holy Spirit. I dropped into the meetings on Azusa Street some time in April, having heard that some people were speaking in tongues, as they did on the day of Pentecost. Although I had been trying to preach Pentecost for five years, the speaking in tongues was as strange to me as though it had never been mentioned in God's word. At first the meeting seemed a very tame affair to me, as I had been along the line of much fleshly demonstration and noise.

As I was indoctrinated in the second blessing being the baptism with the Holy Spirit, I branded the teaching as heretical, not going to the meetings for some time. In the meantime, Pentecost came to the place, and many began to speak in tongues. I now began to attend regularly. In fact, I could not stay away. My heart began to break up, and soon I was going from one person to another, asking them to forgive me for harsh words and criticism. God so melted my heart that I would cry at my work or riding on a streetcar. How the dear Lord began to teach me that what I needed was His loving, tender Spirit, and that power with God meant deep humility in our dealings with our fellow creatures. I now began to go to the altar and earnestly seek for the Lord to have His way with me. Soon the power of God began to work with me. The Holy Spirit showed me that I must be clay in the Potter's hands, an empty vessel before the Lord. I laid aside all doctrine, all pre-conceived ideas and teachings and became absolutely empty. The Holy Spirit now settled down on me, and I could feel the power going through me like electric needles. The Spirit taught me that I must not resist the power but give way and become limp as a piece of cloth. When I did this, I fell under the power, and God began to mold me and teach me what it meant to be really surrendered to Him. 

I was laid out under the power five times before Pentecost really came. Each time I would come out from under the power, I would feel so sweet and clean, as though I had been run through a washing machine. I now had come to the place where I was completely submitted to the whole will of God. I had been seeking about five weeks, and on a Saturday morning I awoke and stretched my arms toward heaven and asked God to fill me with the Holy Spirit. My arms began to tremble, and soon I was shaken violently by a great power, and it seemed as though a large pipe was fitted over my neck, my head apparently being off. I was now filled with the Holy Spirit. Words cannot describe the power I felt. The nearest description that could be given would be the action of a pump under terrific pressure, filling me with oil. I could feel the filling in my toes and all parts of my body which seemed to me to swell until I thought I would burst. 

I do not know how long this continued but it seemed to me a long time. The pressure was now removed and my soul and spirit seemed to leave the body and float in the air just above. My body seemed hard and metallic like iron. This was undoubtedly the baptism into the death of Christ. It was now time for me to arise and go to work, so I got up without speaking in tongues. I believe I would have spoken in tongues then, if I had remained in the hands of the Lord long enough. About thirty hours afterwards, while sitting in the meeting on Azusa Street, I felt my throat and tongue begin to move, without any effort on my part. Soon I began to stutter and then out came a distinct language which I could hardly restrain. I talked and laughed with joy far into the night. Praise His name for such a wonderful experience of power and love and joy. G.A. Cook.

A Confirming Prophetic Word?

 

The Lord said to me this morning: "There Will Be War; A Terrible One"

This is what sister Mary Galmond said over a hundred years ago, from Azusa Street End-Times Prophecies post.

"Then He said to me again: "The time is coming when men are going to get desperate and will go into the banks even at noontime and hew men down, and take out the silver and gold and walk on with it. They will rob the banks in open daytime." The Lord said the time was coming when men would not regard a man's life any more than that of a dog. Then He says again that there is going to be a war as there never was before. Four nations from the four corners of the earth are coming together for battle, and it is going to be one of the worst wars that ever was in history."

Azusa Street Testimonies (Part 3)

 

Brother Rosa’s Testimony

When Rev. Evans and his wife and Sister Florence Crawford went to the city of Oakland preaching the full Gospel, I went the first night, not to criticize but to investigate. Many preachers were there to criticize, but when I stepped in, I felt the power of God and could not say that it was the work of the devil, as most of the preachers declared, for I was practically convinced that it was the work of the Holy Spirit. I went home and began to study my Bible, and went to God in prayer to reveal to me if these people were really the people of God. He revealed to me in the attitude of my supplication that they were preaching exactly what the disciples of old preached. I was convinced that every minister of the Gospel should receive the same baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire that the disciples received on the day of Pentecost, before they are prepared to preach the Gospel. 

I was teaching that when we receive sanctification, we receive the Holy Spirit, as most of the preachers are teaching. But as I went to my Bible with the spirit of prayer, God revealed to me that the disciples were justified before Christ ascended; but they never were baptized with the Holy Spirit until the day of Pentecost. The second day that I went to the meeting, the Lord put a real hunger in my soul to go forward, but I was too proud as a minister of the Gospel to humble myself in a lowly mission and let ladies pray over me for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and I had in my mind what people would think of me. But the third day, as I arose to testify in the audience, the only words I could say were: "What does God think of me?" Then I could only weep for some minutes and the power of God came upon me until I dropped to the floor. 

I was under the power of God for about an hour and a half, and it was there that all pride, and self, and conceit disappeared, and I was really dead to the world, for I had Christ within in His fullness. I was baptized with the Holy Spirit and spoke in a new tongue. I praise God for the light, and now I am walking in it. The desire of my heart is to see every man and woman that preaches the Gospel of Christ, baptized with the Holy Spirit, for without the Holy Spirit it is almost impossible for us to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and the judgment.

Testimonies Of Outgoing Missionaries. 

A company of three missionaries left Los Angeles September 13, en route for the west coast of Africa. Sister Hutchins has been preaching the Gospel in the power of the Spirit. She has received the baptism with the Holy Spirit and the gift of the Uganda language, the language of the people to whom she is sent. A brother who has been in that country understands and has interpreted the language she speaks. Her husband is with her and her niece, who also has been given the African language.

Sister Hutchins' Testimony.

I was justified on the 4th of July, 1901, and at that time, I felt that the Lord wanted me in Africa, but I was not then at all willing to go. But on the 28th of July, 1903, the Lord sanctified me. Before He sanctified me, He asked me if I would go to Africa. I promised Him I would. From that time on, I have felt the call to Africa, and have been willing to go at any moment, but not knowing just when the Lord would have me leave. On the sixth of last month, while out in my back yard one afternoon, I heard a voice speaking to me these words: "On the 15th day of September, take your husband and baby and start out for Africa." And I looked around and about me to see if there was not someone speaking to me, but I did not see anyone, and I soon recognized that it was the voice of God. I looked up into the heavens and said: "Lord, I will obey." Since then I have had many tests and temptations from the devil. He has at times told me that I would not even live to see the 15th of September, but I never once doubted God. I knew that He was able to bring everything to pass that He told me to do. After hearing the voice telling me to leave Los Angeles on the 15th, I went to one of my neighbors and testified to her that the Lord had told me to leave for Africa on the 15th of September.

She looked at me with a smile. I asked her what she was smiling about. She said: "Because you have not got street car fare to go to Azusa Street Mission tonight, and talking about going to Africa." But I told her I was trusting in a God that could bring all things to pass that He wanted us to do. He has really supplied all my needs in every way, for the work where He has called me. I want to testify also about my husband. He was a backslider, and how the devil did test me, saying: "You are going out to cast the devil out of others, and going to take a devil with you." My husband was not saved, but I held on to God and said: "Lord, I will obey." I continued to testify and to make preparations to leave on the 15th. The Lord reclaimed my husband and sanctified him wholly and put the glory and shout in him. So now it is my time to laugh. The devil has oppressed and mocked me; but praise the Lord, now I can mock him. Glory to God! It is now ten minutes to four o'clock in the afternoon on the 15th day of September. I am all ready and down to the Mission with my ticket and everything prepared, waiting to have hands laid on and the prayers of the saints, and expect to leave at eight o'clock from the Santa Fe station en route for Africa. We expect to go to Mt. Coffee, Monrovia, Liberia. Feeling the need of a real companion in the Gospel that was out and out for God, I prayed to God that He might give me one to go with me. I had my eyes upon one that I wanted to go, but in prayer and humility before God, I found out it was not the one the Lord wanted to go. So I said: "Anyone, Lord, that you would have to go will be pleasing to me." And, to my surprise, He gave me my niece—a girl that I had raised from a child. Now she is nineteen years of age, is saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Spirit, and is going with me out into the work of the Lord. So instead of giving me one companion, He gave me two—my niece and my husband.

A Girl's Consecration For Africa. 

I am saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Spirit and have the Bible evidence. The Lord showed me that the language I spoke was the language of Africa. My aunt who has been the same as a mother to me, was going to Africa. I asked the Lord if He wanted me to go, to open up a way for me, and the next morning He opened the way for me. I did not have the means and He gave me the fare and supplied all my needs. I am willing to trust Him through to Africa. I know the Lord wants me to go there. I want to testify to those people and teach the children about the blessed Lord, and to work for the Lord. I am willing to forsake all my loved ones for His sake. I want the saints to pray for me for I am young in the Lord. Leila McKinney.

Pleasures, phones, sports, parties —

"I have chosen you out of the world — therefore the world hates you."
"The world loves its own." (give us Barabbas!)

Chosen.
Not chosen for fame,
Not chosen for followers,
Not chosen to chase shadows down endless streets.

Chosen... to leave.

To walk out of the glittering graveyard,
To leave behind everything that promised me life
But fed me slow poison in golden cups.

They call it living.
I call it dying with your eyes wide open.

The world says,
"Come, dance with us."
But I see the chains tucked behind their smiles.

And then I hear once again, that still small voice within,

And it says:
You weren’t built for cages.
You weren’t designed for their applause.
You were made to walk in the fire.
To live outside the simulation.
To stand in the Light they can’t understand.

So here I am:
Transformed into something new,

John 13:34-35

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Can you love your brother or sister in Christ, when they disagree with you? When they tell you the truth about yourself and expose your sin? 

Can you love a homless man or woman off the street who wants to get to know Jesus? How about if they ask to come into your home for some food and a shower? 

How about a prostitute, who's looking to change her lifestyle, can you genuinely love and help her without judging her?

Jesus loved like this and much more! He touched the lepers and the sick, the blind and the lame. He loved smelly fishermen and Mary Magdalene, out of whom He cast seven devils!

And the greatest love of all, He sacrificed Himself for ALL humanity that we might be redeemed from our fallen state, that we might be cleansed from a life of unrighteousness and sin!!!

And while upon the cross itself, after being beaten beyond recognition, He cried out and said Father forgive them, for they know not what they do!!

That is the Love Jesus is commanding His disciples to have for one another!! My goodness that's a high standard!! Help your people to reach it Lord!!

The leperous man in Matthew 8:1-4 experienced the love of Jesus.

"When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Peter, experienced the love of Jesus in Luke 5:4-8

"When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”

The un-named woman who was likely a prostitute also experienced the great love of Jesus in:

Luke 7:36-39, 44-50

"Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.”

Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.  Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

This is the love the disciples of Jesus are commanded to have for one another!!

How can this be? Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord!!!

IF You Have Love For One Another! (Part 1)

 

Wow! Can you see how the world is getting darker and darker? The wicked and ungodly are getting bolder everyday! Blaspheming the name of Jesus, laughing and mocking those who believe what the bible says. Many entertainers are making a mockery of the crucifixtion, the religious of today are becoming more bold in their hypocrisy and desire for money. So called pastors the world over are getting addicted to pornography and the like.

Yet there is still more to come! As people harden themselves more and more to the presence and grace of God, the Lord is getting ready to separate His people from the unbelievers! When He pours out His Spirit for this last hour, true love and Holy Spirit power will be seen once more before the Lord Jesus returns.

The scriptures must be fulfilled, and millions will literally hate the righteous with all their being and there will be no more hatred of other so-called races, or because of the color of skin. It will be, we hate you because you are a Christian! Because you are a disciple of Jesus, because you have the Holy Spirit in your soul, and because you are bearing the fruit of the Spirit, namely LOVE!

Didn't they hate Jesus for the same reasons! Didn't they crucify Him without a cause! Yet all He did was love, heal, and tell people the truth that could save their souls from hell and the lake of fire!

And this separation and outpouring of God's Spirit is absolutely necessary world-wide in order for millions of people to be saved from the coming judgments and the wrath of God!

I truly do not see the true and genuine love of Jesus in any congregation I have been in or served in. The closest I have gotten to it was the International Church of Christ in Chicago, before it was exposed as cultish. But they had one thing right, they knew how to get people to study the bible and lay the right foundation of Christ, but failed to teach people about the baptism with the Holy Spirit. 

Young single men lived together in rented apartments, as well as the women. They gave up jobs and cars, they met together daily and only dated other singles from the church. Married couples opened up their homes to people, they had marriage retreats and conferences. It was truly a well oiled machine, but everything was being done in the flesh! Without the Spirit of God! It just continues to show you what man can do when everyone is thinking the same!

Jesus said in John 13:34-35

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Let me tell you right now, it is IMPOSSIBLE to have the type of love that Jesus is talking about in John 13 without first being baptized with the Holy Spirit! How can you truly display the Love of God, if God's Spirit is not in your soul? 

You can't bear the fruit of the Spirit if you don't have His Spirit to begin with!!! And this is where the Pharisees and teachers of the bible fail today, they are not helping souls to be truly converted to Christ, they are not teaching people how to enter the Kingdom of God!

How many times have you heard, repeat after me? How many times have you heard just repeat Romans 10:9? But what did Jesus say?

John 3:5

"Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

The truth is on full display right here in plain text, black and white, but sadly not explained, taught, or accepted! The explanation for water and Spirit is contained IN the scriptures! Jesus was baptized in water, and the Holy Spirit came down from Heaven and remained on Him. He is our perfect example and the Blueprint that we should follow!! Another explanation is in Acts 19, with the men who believed in John's baptism.

Acts 19:1-7

And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” 

Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Now the men were about twelve in all.

You cannot have genuine love for another brother or sister in Christ without first being filled with the One who can give you the fruit of love! The Spirit of God!

Wait On The Lord For Your Spouse!

 

Genesis 2:24

"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

This is what God ordained from the beginning! Marriage, between one man and one woman. He decreed that a man should leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife.

Did God ordain a boyfriend? How about a girlfriend? Both questions can be answered with a resounding, NO!

Of course you can have a friend that's a girl, if you're a male, and a friend that's a boy if you're a female. BUT, the relationship should not move beyond that friendship if you're not an adult and God has not made it clear that the person you have a close friendship with, will become your husband or wife.

There is so much heartache and sin amongst young people today who just can't wait on God to bless them with the ONE. You can avoid all the pain and heartbreaks from the so called boyfriends and girlfriends that you think you love for a time, but then for whatever the reason it doesn't work out.

If the world followed the commands of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ the amount of abortions would drastically decrease and the amount of children born without a father present would plummet as well. 

There wouldn't be any sexually transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancies, and no promiscuity etc.....

Here's what the statistics say:

"In the United States, over 18.5 million children live with a single mother or father. Approximately five million children aged five and under live in a single parent household. Almost one-fourth (23%) of children under the age of 18 live with one parent and no other adult, which is the highest in the world."

"Approximately 40-50% of marriages in the United States end in divorce. Specifically, about 42%-45% of all first marriages and 60% for second marriages end in divorce. The divorce rate has been declining, and in 2019, it hit its lowest point in 50 years."

"In the first six months of 2024, the monthly national abortion count averaged nearly 98,000 abortions. That eclipses the 2023 monthly average of 88,000 and the 2022 monthly average of 81,400." 

That means that over one million pregnancies were aborted in 2024 alone!

So if all this is going on in the world, shouldn't those who profess Christ be completely the opposite? Yes Indeed!!!!

Let the people of God, OBEY the commands of God! We must wait on the Lord for our spouse's, and we must cry out to Him for guidance, and confirmation about the one we are to spend the rest of our lives with. It's a very important decision, and we need to be absolutely sure we are making the right choice!

Azusa Street Testimonies! (Part 2)

 

Arrested For Jesus Name

A brother who has been baptized with the Holy Spirit was arrested on account of the disturbance which the preaching of the Gospel created among the people who crowded about the tent in Pasadena. As he stood to answer the accusation of disturbing the peace, another brother says he saw an angel standing by his side. He was released. The Lord has been doing great things in that place and we expect greater things.

Some workers were preaching on the street corner in Los Angeles and a poor drunkard had just been saved, when a policeman came up and ordered them to stop, and took two of them off to jail. The sister sang all the way to the jail and shouted and prayed while they were there. They soon were anxious to get rid of them and let them go. Meantime the other workers returned to the mission and told how the workers had been arrested and they all went to the altar and prayed and arose praising God; and soon in walked the ones who had been arrested. We are ready not only to go to prison, but to give our lives for Jesus.

Missionaries To Jerusalem

A band of three missionaries, Bro. Andrew Johnson and Sisters Louisa Condit and Lucy M. Leatherman, who have been baptized with the Holy Spirit and received the gift of languages, have left for Jerusalem, going by way of Oakland, leaving there Aug. 10th. Reports came of meetings on the way that four souls received the Pentecost in Colorado Springs and three in Denver. Bro. Johnson has received seven different languages, one of which is the Arabic. Sister Leatherman speaks the Turkish language, and while in Oakland, some were talking on the street about the gift of tongues; Sister Leatherman began to speak just as a man wearing the Turkish fez came by. He listened in wonder and asked what college she had attended, saying she spoke the most perfect Turkish tongue he had heard spoken by a foreigner. He was an educated man from a Turkish college in Constantinople. She told him the Holy Spirit gave her the language which she did not understand herself and he was the first person that had interpreted for her.

God Still Heals

God laid His hand on a little crippled boy seven years of age and healed him of disease and made him whole except his ankles. He walked on the sides of his ankles. Then, when he was fourteen years of age, he had been sent to college and God had called him to preach. One day as he was sitting reading his Bible, a man came for him to go and hold a meeting. He began to say to the Lord: "Father, if I go to that place, it will be necessary for me to walk here and yonder, just put strength into these ankle joints of mine." And immediately he was made whole and leaped and praised God, like the man at the beautiful gate. He has since been in evangelistic work over the United States, seeing multitudes saved, sanctified and healed.

The Shekinah Glory Cloud

"Five years ago, God put it into this man's heart (Bro. Charles Parham) to go over to Topeka, Kansas, to educate missionaries to carry the Gospel. It was a faith school and the Bible was the only textbook. The students had gathered there without tuition or board, God sending in the means to carry on the work. Most of the students had been religious workers and said they had received the baptism with the Holy Spirit a number of years ago. Bro. Parham became convinced that there was no religious school that tallied up with the second chapter of Acts. Just before the first of January 1901, the Bible School began to study the word on the Baptism with the Holy Spirit to discover the Bible evidence of this baptism that they might obtain it.

The students kept up continual prayer in the praying tower. A company would go up and stay three hours, and then another company would go up and wait on God, praying that all the promises of the Word might be wrought out in their lives.

On New Year's night, Miss Agnes N. Ozman, one who had had for years "the anointing that abideth," which she mistook for the baptism, was convinced of the need of a personal Pentecost. A few minutes before midnight, she desired hands laid on her that she might receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. During prayer and invocation of hands, she was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke with other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance.

This made all hungry. Scarcely eating or sleeping, the school with one accord waited on God. On the 3rd of January, 1901, Bro. Parham being absent holding a meeting at the time, while they all waited on God to send the baptism of the Spirit, suddenly twelve students were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, and when Bro. Parham returned and opened the door of the room where they were gathered; a wonderful sight met his eyes. The whole room was filled with a white sheen of light that could not be described, and twelve of the students were on their feet talking in different languages.

He said they seemed to pay no attention at all to him, and he knelt in one corner and said: "O, God, what does this mean?" The Lord said: "Are you able to stand for the experience in the face of persecution and howling mobs?" He said: "Yes, Lord, if you will give me the experience, for the laborer must first be partaker of the fruits." Instantly the Lord took his vocal organs, and he was preaching the Word in another language.

This man has preached in different languages over the United States, and men and women of that nationality have come to the altar and sought God. He was surely raised up of God to be an apostle of the doctrine of Pentecost.

Becoming!

 

John 1:10-13

"He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right (authority, power) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

This is so deep! A treasure trove of knowledge in these few scriptures! 

1) God Almighty the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and everything in it, prepared a body for Himself to enter His own creation, so that we might have a chance to be redeemed, reconciled, and saved from the corruption and fallen state that all human beings are born in because of  the sin of Adam and Eve. 

2) God Himself in the form of man entered the world through a virgin woman, who was supernaturally impregnated by the Spirit of the Living God, and walked amongst the work of His own hands and was not received by those He made and loved!

3) But the ones who did receive Him and love Him, He gave the authority, right, and power TO BECOME children of God! Oh if you really understood what this means you would be rejoicing from here to eternity!

You see a man or woman can become just about anything they desire to become! That's the power of the soul and spirit working in man to become what they desire. Every human has this power because God made us that way! He breathed a part of Himself, His essence, into man, and man BECAME a Living Being or a Living Soul! The breath of God Almighty made us come alive!!!

Genesis 2:7

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."

So you can set your heart and mind to become a doctor, a lawyer, a body builder, a scientist, a basketball player, football player, a baseball player, and the list goes on and on! And all this becoming takes effort, practice, dedication, persistence, study, sacrifice, time and money! 

I thought to myself wow, a human being can devote him or herself to becoming whatever he or she wants to be. So why are there so many who call themselves Christian, who don't desire to become disciples of Jesus? Why don’t most professing Christians devote their lives to Jesus and dedicate their souls to become like the One they profess?

It's so easy to go inside a building, sit down and say amen and hallelujah, sing a few songs, say hi to a few folks, smile, and then go home and watch T.V., or go out to eat at your favorite restaurant, thinking you're better than you were before you went into the building! What a great deception this is!!!

This is why the scripture tells us that the first century Christians devoted themselves to Jesus, the apostles teaching and to each other!

Acts 2:40-45

"And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need."

If you don't become like Jesus, and you don't become His disciple, and you don't devote yourself to His teachings, and His word, then you will most certainly hear these words on the day of judgement, "away from me, I never knew you!"

Yes, you can become just about anything you want to become, even an alien, just ask Anthony Loffredo!

God’s Workings Amongst His People

No Bottom

We meet many honest souls these days who are under the delusion that they have committed the unpardonable sin. The following incident should be an encouragement to such.

A child of God was attacked by the enemy with the suggestion that she was forsaken of God and had committed the unpardonable sin. She was then on a mission field in the South, separated from other Christian workers; and without any apparent cause, the archenemy that tempted our Savior told her that God hated her. The words, "God hates you" seemed to be continually shouted in her ears and she could not get away from it. She lost her faith and believed the enemy, not knowing his power. The next suggestion was, "Drown yourself in the river." She stood looking into the dark water, but the thought of her dear mother made her turn away.

She returned to her room, and throwing herself down, fell asleep and dreamed. She seemed to be on a boat on which all the people but herself were rejoicing and praising God. She heard the captain call out to the pilot, "Sound the depths and compare it with the love of God." The depths were sounded and the call came back "No bottom! No bottom!" She awoke in an ocean of God's love, all darkness past and the cry ringing in her ears, "No bottom!" For years since then she has been in Gospel work on both sides of the ocean.

The Lord Provides

A sister who was called to Oakland had her faith tested as to her fare, as the time was near and she had not received it. That night she was caught away in the Spirit and when the Lord brought her back, the words came to her, "If I can carry you around Los Angeles without a body, I can take you to Oakland without a fare." So that day she received the money.

T.W. McConnell Testimony

The first time I was out of wood after the Lord had shown me to trust Him, I asked the Lord for wood and the wood did not come. The Lord had shown me that I could not ask for what I already had. If there was flour in the barrel, I could not ask for flour till it was gone. I went down into the basement that morning and found some hard knots that had been laid aside and had enough wood for that day. The "next morning I asked the Lord for wood. The wood did not come. I picked up enough chunks and chips to do that day.

The next morning, I went to the Lord and said, 'Father, there are no more chunks and chips, we are out of wood. Send the wood.' I went down to the city and forgot all about it. Did not think of it, until I returned home, and my daughter said, 'Papa, who brought the wood?' I told her that 'she need not trouble, the Lord would send it.' But she said, 'some man brought wood, who was he that you sent it by?' I thought she was joking, but she said, 'Look in the box and in the basement.' I went down and found a large load of wood already for the stove and just the length that we used in our stove.

I did not know for some time who brought the wood; but one day when holding meetings in South Seattle, a man invited me home with him, and while at dinner he said, 'I want to tell you something that happened to me. I was crossing the bridge with a load of wood. My wife had written out a bill of some things that we had to have, and I needed feed for my horses. I was taking this load of wood in to get the groceries and feed. While out on the bridge and no one near me, an audible voice said behind me and just above me, "Take this wood to McConnell." I looked around me and there was no one near me. I said, "I cannot take this wood to McConnell, I have got to have the groceries and feed," and drove on. The voice said again, "Take this wood to T.W. McConnell." I said, "How can I take this wood to McConnell; I must have these groceries and feed for my horses." And the third time the voice spoke, and so strong that it scared me, and I answered, "Well, I will," for I believed it was the Lord talking. There was no one about.

'I went and made inquiry, finally looked in the directory and found where you lived. I drove to the house and unloaded the wood, then drove back home as quickly as I could, loaded up some wood that I had and drove back to town, sold my wood as soon as I reached town, got my feed and groceries, and from that time I have prospered as never before."

The Gift Of Tongues

We clip the following from the Apostolic Faith published by Bro. Charles. Parham at Baxter, Kansas

A remarkable incident of God's searching power was recorded in Melrose, Kansas, during a revival which has been held by some of our young people at that place.

The power of the Holy Spirit was greatly manifested in the meetings by the speaking in unknown tongues. This was much criticized by the town and vicinity, so the principal physician, who was familiar with several different languages, was prevailed upon to go to the meetings in order to denounce the whole as a fake. Miss Tuthill, in an unknown language to herself, but known to him as Italian, spoke his full name, which no one in the town knew save himself, telling him things that had happened in his life twenty years ago, and on up to the present time, until he cried for mercy and fell on his knees seeking God.

He found full salvation the next day, and is now a believer in 'the Gospel' that Jesus taught, and also in the power of the Holy Spirit that was given unto us to witness to a living Christ. He now says he would rather pray for the sick than give drugs, and is seriously thinking of leaving his profession and going into the Lord's work.

Many precious souls have been saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Spirit as a result of the preached word under the Spirit's anointing power."

Jesus Is Coming!

Sister Anna Hall, who came here from Houston, Texas, in response to the call of God, is now assisting in Los Angeles. The Lord led her into the Pentecostal Baptism and gift of tongues without her hearing the truth except from the Word. She related the following wonderful vision and revelation.

A few weeks ago, as we were in our camp meeting, the first night we called our altar service there were 100 at the altar seeking God, and a strange power came into my being that I had felt once before when God wanted to reveal something to me. I have learned that it pays to be quiet before the Lord. I went home to my daughter's house and prepared for bed. Just as the gray dawn began to appear, I waked as if someone had touched my shoulder, and felt the same power. I heard the beautiful warbling of a bird, and thought it was a mocking bird which one might hear there. But no, It seemed away down in my soul. And as that beautiful bird began to sing, I saw a little infant face right before my eyes. And as the song of the bird began to ripple, it began to sound like water running over pebbles. It increased till it sounded like many waters, and the face enlarged till it was a full-grown face. I said, 'Surely this is a messenger from the holy country.' The voice answered, 'Yes, and I have come to tell you that Jesus is coming. Go forward in My name, preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, for the King's business demands haste. My people have only time to get on the beautiful garments, and prepare for the wedding supper in the Heavens.' Dear ones, have you got on the beautiful robes of righteousness? I said, 'Lord, reveal unto me what this means, the singing of the bird and rippling of the waters.' And God spoke to me, 'The singing of the beautiful bird and the baby face was the proclamation of the first coming into the world; and the voice of many waters is the proclamation of Jesus Christ that is soon coming.” Repent and believe the Gospel, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Divine Healing!

Bro. J.A. Warren of Houston, Texas, relates his experience as follows: "I had suffered two years from chills and fever and could never get rid of them. I was down with them, when it was told to me that the Lord would heal us and wanted to do it without the help of medicine, so I made up my mind that I would not have another chill; that the Lord would heal me. My chill was to come on about seven o'clock in the morning. It started to come and I was about to call my people to put more cover over me, when I thought how I had taken the Lord for my healer. So I got up and dressed and would not let the devil bring a chill on me, but prepared for breakfast. When the ice wagon came along and my little grandchild called my attention to it, I started to say, 'No, I will not take ice for this is my chill day.' (I was in the habit of taking ice only on the day I had fever). Then I stopped myself and said, 'Yes, I will take ice,' and I drank ice water all day. I was healed and in two months had gained about twenty-five pounds in flesh."

The Whole Truth And Nothing But The Truth!

 

Jesus knew exactly waht He was saying to the Jews who believed in Him for a moment, but after He spoke the words, “IF you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Those Jews who had believed, turned on Him very quickly!!

In today's world, the truth has become subjective, it's your truth, or what you believe to be true. The lines have become blurred between the truth and a lie. Many don't know what it means to be deceived because they were never taught the truth in the first place!

Pontius Pilate said two thousand years ago, "what is truth." Jesus answered his question in:

John 17:14-19

"I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth."

Jesus is clearly saying that we can be made clean, holy, transformed, and righteous by the truth! What is truth? God's word IS TRUTH! So that means if you don't believe God's word then you live in deception, you live in a world full of lies and you accept what the world teaches you. 

That also means that when you hear the truth of God's word you immediately oppose it, and you don't want it, because if you accept it, then you would have to change the way you are currently thinking! Change your lifestyle, and change your whole way of being!

This is why God supernaturally preserved His word, so that His creation could know the truth and have the choice to OBEY His commands and the teachings of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ!

As Christians we have a moral compass, we have a lamp that guides our path, if we don't obey God's word, then can we expect to receive the blessings and promises of God? NO!

The time has come for the truth to be spoken, without fear of backlash from unbelievers and sinners, who care nothing about the truth of God's word, and don't want to change. The word tells us that men love darkness rather than the light, and will not come to the light, because they don't want their sins to be exposed!

This is why Jesus said, "Whosoever will, let them come," because He knew that many wouldn't come to Him! But He still spoke the truth to all, and gave everyone a chance to repent and come to a knowledge of the truth. 

There aren't very many who want to hear the truth about themselves! You have to really love the truth and desire to be different in a world designed to entrap souls. And anyone who doesn't want to engage in the pleasures of this world and become true disciples of Jesus, are called weird and brainwashed, etc......

Satan himself also has a part in all of this because he has the power to deceive the whole world and he also blinds the minds of unbelievers so that they remain deceived until the day they die!

2nd Corinthians 4:1-4

"Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

The truth can and will make you free, IF you really want to be free! But you must be ready and willing to die to this world and everything in it!
