John 16:5-11
“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged."
If the Holy Spirit of the Living God dwells inside your heart and makes your body into His temple, then His presence in you WILL convict every single person in this world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
Your family members, your friends, your spouse, your children, your co-workers, those you come in contact with, and even yourself, will come under the conviction of the Holy Spirit every single day, and this is the reason that many separate themselves from the company of those who are Spirit-filled disciples of Christ. And this is why people hate them, and don't want to be around them, because they can physically FEEL the presence of the Spirit and grace of God in the earthen vessels of His elect, and it makes the darkness and demons in their flesh manifest.
John 15:18-24
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father."
I have been amazed over this past year at how the world and many professing Christians resist and reject the conviction of the Spirit and the grace of God. Now I can understand how Jesus could become angry and grieved at the hardness of heart and unbelief of those He was sent to save! (Mark 3:5)
Hebrews 3:12-19
"Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."
When the Spirit of the Lord comes to convict your heart of sin, righteousness, and judgment, will you hear His voice?
In Jesus,
