Power From Heaven!

Jesus told His disciples before He ascended to Heaven to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father, which is the outpouring of His Spirit and that they would be endued with power from on high.

Luke 24:49

"Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

The New Testament books of the bible are filled with testimonies of the power of God, the supernatural displays of the Holy Spirit working in and through the lives of ordinary men and women who chose to answer the call of Jesus.

Without being empowered by the Spirit of God it is impossible to overcome your flesh, this world, and the adversary of all our souls, satan. We absolutely can not  live in this world as a disciple of Jesus, unless the Holy Spirit is indwelling your soul. There is just to much evil, sin, and gross darkness, to live without the Spirit's daily help, protection, and empowerment.

Jesus who understood the full scale of the spiritual battle we face everyday and He would never send His apostles into the world to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth without first being empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus told them that He was going away but He would not leave them as orphans, but would come to them again through the Spirit of God.

John 14:15-18

If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

Jesus is telling His disciples that although He was going to be crucified and His work on earth in physical form would be done, He Himself would come back to be with them through the Spirit of the Living God! The same Spirit that hovered over the face of the deep during the earth's creation, and the same Holy Spirit that overshadowed Mary the mother of Jesus, and caused her to be impregnated with a child without ever being touched by a man!

This is why it's absolutely ludicrous to think that a momentous occasion like being baptized with the Holy Spirit, by the Lord Jesus Himself wouldn't be accompanied by supernatural signs, like speaking in other tongues and prophesying.

John 14:23

"Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."

How is it possible for Jesus and the Father to make their with a person? By entering into their soul through the Holy Spirit, the same way evil spirits can enter people and live IN them until they are cast out!

John 14:25

These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."

Again Jesus is talking about a supernatural event that would soon take place once He left the world and entered into Heaven, which is in another dimension by the way!

Once a soul is indwelt by the Spirit of God, Jesus say's plainly that HE WILL teach you ALL things, and even remind them of everything that Jesus said to them, which is completely supernatural and beyond our human limitations. Jesus is also saying that you will not need another human being to teach you about HIM!!!!

If believers would just read the bible for themselves and truly BELIEVE and apply what it says, they too would experience the power and supernatural works of God's Spirit in their lives!

1st John 2:26-27

"These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him."

John, the apostle of Jesus say's the same thing, when the Holy Spirit of God inhabits your soul, you will not need any man to teach you anything. A truly liberating and empowering truth!

Now you have some much needed context for Acts 1:4-5,8 and Acts 2:1-4

"And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Have you received the Spirit since you believed? Have you received power from on high?

Don't be deceived by men or women who don't want to lose their jobs as pastor's and ministry leaders, by preaching and teaching the truth of the bible!

The baptism with the Holy Spirit is truly a supernatural gift from God to those who obey Him and keep the commandments of Jesus. You too can be endued with Power from Heaven if you believe!

The Choice is Yours!

School Of The Spirit

Matthew 4:18-20

"And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him."

We are living in a time where the bible is the best-selling book of all time, the scriptures are quoted, studied, memorized, expounded, and preached on, but still misunderstood by many and not applied to the lives of those who claim to be ministers of God and followers of Jesus Christ.

Did you know there is not one scripture in the New Testament, where you find any disciple of Jesus going to a seminary school or bible college to become a minister or servant of God. On the contrary, what we read in scripture is Jesus personally calling His disciples, teaching them and training them over a period of three and a half years. Once they were taught, trained, and cleaned by the Lord then they were empowered by the Spirit of God and the words that Jesus spoke were fulfilled.

Jesus said "Follow ME, and I will make you fishers of men". Today Jesus is not here physically in bodily form to go out and choose His disciples, but we have the Holy Spirit of God who is Christ in us the hope of glory, another Counselor to be with us, teach us, train us, and help us to become like Jesus.

There are so many deep spiritual truths and revelations of God that no man can teach. Paul the apostle, received his revelation of Jesus through the Spirit, look at Galatians 1:11-12

"But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ."

How many of those who call themselves ministers and pastors (who oversee hundreds and thousands of souls) would receive a man who said nobody taught him the gospel and that he received it by revelation? How many today would give him the right hand of fellowship and accept Paul into their congregation?

It's very likely they would look at him as if he were out of his mind and escort him to the door!

Yes dear soul, it's the school of the Holy Spirit that we need to attend, it's the school of tests, trials, temptations, sufferings and afflictions that we need to pass. They don't teach that in seminary, and you can't exegete a test of your faith in the face of evil and opposition when you witness Christ to an unbeliever.

John 4:15-18

"If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

Isn't that an amazing truth! Once we are converted to Christ by being baptized in water and the Holy Spirit, we are literally indwelt by God! The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit enters the heart of our soul and makes their home within us. All glory be to God!

He Convicts The World Of Sin, Righteousness, & Judgment!

John 16:5-11

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged."

If the Holy Spirit of the Living God dwells inside your heart and makes your body into His temple, then His presence in you WILL convict every single person in this world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Your family members, your friends, your spouse, your children, your co-workers, those you come in contact with, and even yourself, will come under the conviction of the Holy Spirit every single day, and this is the reason that many separate themselves from the company of those who are Spirit-filled disciples of Christ. And this is why people hate them, and don't want to be around them, because they can physically FEEL the presence of the Spirit and grace of God in the earthen vessels of His elect, and it makes the darkness and demons in their flesh manifest.

John 15:18-24

If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father."

I have been amazed over this past year at how the world and many professing Christians resist and reject the conviction of the Spirit and the grace of God. Now I can understand how Jesus could become angry and grieved at the hardness of heart and unbelief of those He was sent to save! (Mark 3:5)

Hebrews 3:12-19

"Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."

When the Spirit of the Lord comes to convict your heart of sin, righteousness, and judgment, will you hear His voice?

Who Will Stand For Truth?

Psalm 119:160

"The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."

John 17:17-19

"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth."

The entirety of the word of God is truth, written and spoken. From Genesis to Revelation we can know beyond a doubt that what we read is truth. Those in Christ should live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God whether written or spoken, but sadly that is not the case today. Many hear from God but do not know His commands or obey His words, the above scriptures in John tell us that we are made holy or sanctified by the truth!

Jesus said in John 8:31-32

"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Jesus spoke these words to Jews who had come to believe in Him after He was teaching them in the temple. He made it clear to them that IF they abode in His word then they were His disciples and they would know the truth and the truth would make them free. The truth is what sets us free from the bondage of Satan, the truth being taught to us by the Holy Spirit is able to wash us and cleanse our hearts and minds from false teachings, and vain imaginations.

The Spirit is saying to us today that we must also abide in the words of Jesus, DO what He says and follow Him.

Luke 6:46

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?"

John 14:6

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Many today are prophesying and saying the Lord says this and the Lord says that, and they very well may be hearing from the Lord, but all of us still need to know and walk in His truth! The Lord can use a donkey to speak a word to His people if He wanted to! On the day of judgment it's not going to matter how many prophecies you or I spoke in the name of the Lord, or how many miracles we performed. If the fruits of the Spirit have not been birthed in our hearts and we are not sanctified by His truth, or conformed into His image, Jesus will tell us away from me I never knew you!

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"

Matthew 7:15-20

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Many like to hear a soothing prophetic word of peace and prosperity or a nice feel good message, but when one comes speaking the truth by the anointing of the Spirit to challenge and correct error then the same thing the religious Pharisees and Jews said to Jesus will be heard today; crucify Him!

John 4:23-24

"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus said those who worship the Father MUST worship Him in spirit AND truth! We need BOTH, there is no true worship of the Father in spirit without truth, or vice versa. Anybody can pick up a bible and read it, but without the Spirit to bring life and revelation to the written words of God they remain just words written on the page!

Deuteronomy 32:1-4

“Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He."

Who will stand for truth in these last days of gross darkness, deception, and false teachings? Who will stand for the gospel of the kingdom and proclaim the truth from the rooftops? Who will stand for the name of Jesus and His words? Who will lay down their life to save one soul from the pits of Hell?

I will Lord! Here I am, send me!!!
