The TRUTH, WILL, Make you FREE!

 

John 8:31-32

"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Another often quoted scripture but not truly understood by the masses of people who quote it! And why is that you ask? Because multitudes of those who profess to be Christians have not entered into God's Kingdom and have not received in their souls the Spirit of Truth!

John 14:15-18

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

It all ties in to receiving God's Spirit, by being born from above, how can the truth make or set you free, if the Spirit of Truth is not IN you? 

You can hear the truth, quote the truth, memorize the truths contained in scripture but it will have no effect on your heart or mind, because you have not been baptized with the Spirit and Fire of God! So you don't have the power of God in you to set you free!

You will only think in your mind that you're ok, you'll say: 'I'm good because I read the scriptures, and I believe what it says'. I'm good because pastor so and so, calls me brother or sister and tells me I'm a child of God'. 'I'm good because I go to church on Sunday and Wednesday.' 

But have you heard from the Lord? Has He spoken to you and confirmed who you are in Him? Questions you need to ask yourself and answer honestly!

Only with the Spirit of Truth abiding in your Soul can you be set free!

John 16:12-13

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

So many trying to do it all by their flesh, using their intellect, their gifts, talents, and abilities! Building and planting, working and creating, all without God's Spirit to help them. So you say to yourself, I can do it, I got this! But how much are you really doing without Christ in you?

John 15:5-8

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."

So you see all things tie together in Christ? His Spirit, His Word, His Life in us, His cleansing, His help, His deliverance, His teachings, The fruit of the Holy Spirit, all intertwining to make us healthy, holy and blessed!!

The Truth will set you free indeed, if so be, that the Spirit of truth dwells in you!!

And remember the scripture clearly tells us in Romans 8:9 that if you don't have His Spirit in you, you are none of His!

Who Will Stand For Truth?

Psalm 119:160

"The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."

John 17:17-19
 
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth."

The entirety of the word of God is truth, written and spoken. From Genesis to Revelation we can know beyond a doubt that what we read is truth. Those in Christ should live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God whether written or spoken, but sadly that is not the case today. Many hear from God but do not know His commands or obey His words, the above scriptures in John tell us that we are made holy or sanctified by the truth!

Jesus said in John 8:31-32

"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Jesus spoke these words to Jews who had come to believe in Him after He was teaching them in the temple. He made it clear to them that IF they abode in His word then they were His disciples and they would know the truth and the truth would make them free. The truth is what sets us free from the bondage of Satan, the truth being taught to us by the Holy Spirit is able to wash us and cleanse our hearts and minds from false teachings, and vain imaginations.

The Spirit is saying to us today that we must also abide in the words of Jesus, DO what He says and follow Him.

Luke 6:46

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?"

John 14:6

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Many today are prophesying and saying the Lord says this and the Lord says that, and they very well may be hearing from the Lord, but all of us still need to know and walk in His truth! The Lord can use a donkey to speak a word to His people if He wanted to! On the day of judgment it's not going to matter how many prophecies you or I spoke in the name of the Lord, or how many miracles we performed. If the fruits of the Spirit have not been birthed in our hearts and we are not sanctified by His truth, or conformed into His image, Jesus will tell us away from me I never knew you!

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"

Matthew 7:15-20

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Many like to hear a soothing prophetic word of peace and prosperity or a nice feel good message, but when one comes speaking the truth by the anointing of the Spirit to challenge and correct error then the same thing the religious Pharisees and Jews said to Jesus will be heard today; crucify Him!

John 4:23-24

"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus said those who worship the Father MUST worship Him in spirit AND truth! We need BOTH, there is no true worship of the Father in spirit without truth, or vice versa. Anybody can pick up a bible and read it, but without the Spirit to bring life and revelation to the written words of God they remain just words written on the page!

Deuteronomy 32:1-4

“Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He."

Who will stand for truth in these last days of gross darkness, deception, and false teachings? Who will stand for the gospel of the kingdom and proclaim the truth from the rooftops? Who will stand for the name of Jesus and His words? Who will lay down their life to save one soul from the pits of Hell?

I will Lord! Here I am, send me!!!
