How Will You Respond When God Comes Down?

The two pictures above are the mountain peak of Jabel Al Lawz in Saudia Arabia. Many believe this is the real Mount Sinai that God Himself descended upon in fire and burned the top. Could evidence of this great biblical event still remain to this day? I believe so!

You have to understand that the human mind cannot really grasp supernatural and spiritual occurrences happening on a daily basis. To read about these things in the bible are one thing but to experience them in the natural is completely another!

When God descended upon Mount Sinai the scripture tells us.

Exodus 19:16-18, 20:18-21

"Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly."

"Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was."

There was a popular Christian song by Jesus Culture feat. Kim Walker-Smith called "Show Me Your Glory." One line of lyrics say: "I see the cloud, I step in, I want to see Your glory like Moses did Flashes of light, rolls of thunder, I'm not afraid I'm not afraid...Show me your glory...."

Now in light of what the word of God says, do you think that you're going to see the cloud and just step in? Do you think that you're not going to tremble and be afraid, if you looked up in the sky and saw a thick black cloud forming with great flashes of lighting, ear shattering rolls of thunder, and a VERY LOUD trumpet sounding from Heaven?

That's why just singing a song about God or Jesus does not equal the REALITY!

All we have today is movies to help us visualize what it could have been like in reality, but when you experience something like this in the physical realm and see it up close and personal it WILL affect and CHANGE you in some way, at the very least you will know there is a supernatural LIVING GOD and Creator of Heaven and Earth who dwells in another dimension from our own and at the appointed times He intervenes in the lives of His creation and comes down to help His people.

When God came down after Adam and Eve sinned, what did they do? They ran and hid themselves in the trees!

When God came down in the flesh as Jesus the Christ, the word tells us in John 1:11

"He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him."

We keep crying out for revival but we must be prepared for God to come down, we must have our hearts and minds ready, to not only be loved and blessed by God, but also be judged and corrected by Him as well!

When Jesus was born and His parents went into the temple, Simeon,  a just and devout man, was led by the Spirit into the temple as well and prophesied and said in Luke 2:33-35

"And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him. Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Even the mother of Jesus was not exempt from the corrections and judgements of God!

When Peter saw the miracle that was done through Jesus, he didn't want Jesus to be around him.

Luke 5:5-8

"But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”

How will you respond when God comes down?

In Jesus,
Tyrone
