Do You Have A Carnal Mind? Or A Spiritual Mind?

Romans 8:5-9

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

The truth cannot be sugar coated! It doesn't matter what you're told by a pastor, or whoever is overseeing a congregation of people. If you are in the flesh you CANNOT please God, and you will not submit to God, period!

Oh you can deceive yourself and call yourself a Christian because you attend church services every Wednesday and Sunday, but I'm here to tell you, that if you have not been been baptized in water and the Holy Spirit, with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues then you are NOT a Christian! You are none of His!

The above image is totally accurate, if you are truly a Christian and you are feeding your carnal nature daily with the world by watching ungodly movies, T.V. shows, addicted to porn, sports, movie stars and entertainers you are in the flesh! Repent while there is still time!

The more you feed your soul evil, the more evil and hard hearted you will become, the more you feed your soul on Jesus, the more like Jesus you will become!

Colossians 3:1-7

"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them."

It's hard to let go of your life in the world, it's not easy to separate yourself from all that's in the world, but you can do it by the power of the Spirit of God! It's not easy to say no to friends and family members who want you to be a part of ungodly activities, but the Spirit helps us to say NO to the flesh, the world and the devil!

But the key to having a spiritual mind is to SET your mind on things above, heavenly things, through prayer, fasting, bible study, and seeking God's will, you can overcome the carnal nature and mind! God will give you a new spirit, He will wash your soul, and He will cleanse, heal, and strengthen your body. He will purge your conscious from all dead works so that you can serve Him and love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength!

Is your mind carnal or spiritual? Be honest with yourself! Time is running out!

The Jesus Study

The Jesus Study

· Jesus loves you no matter what you’ve done. He paid the
price for your sins with His own blood.

Ephesians 1:7

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”

Question: What does forgiveness mean?

Forgiveness is the act of pardoning an offender. In the Bible, the Greek word translated “forgiveness” literally means “to let go,” as when a person does not demand payment for a debt. Jesus used this comparison when he taught his followers to pray: “Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us..” (Luke 11:4) Likewise, in his parable of the unmerciful slave, Jesus equated forgiveness with canceling a debt. Matthew 18:23-35.

· He is the sacrificial Lamb of God and He took away the sins of the whole world!

John 1:29

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Note: Under the Old Covenant, sins could only be forgiven by daily animal sacrifices in the temple by the priests and the sprinkling of the blood on the altar. Under the New Covenant, Jesus Christ was the atoning sacrificial Lamb who willingly sacrificed Himself to take away the sins of mankind once and for all.

1st Timothy 2:5-6

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

1st John 2:2

“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”

Propitiation - Atonement, especially that of Jesus Christ. Propitiation brings about a change in God’s attitude, so that He moves from being at enmity (hostile) with us to being for us.

Atonement - Reparation for a wrong or injury. The reconciliation of God and humankind through Jesus Christ.

Reparation - The act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a wrong or injury. Something done or given as amends or satisfaction.

· Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil!

1st John 3:7-8

“Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

Acts 10:36-38

“The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all—that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

Observation: Jesus has destroyed ALL the works of the devil, and triumphed over every principality and power of darkness. He has the power to heal and deliver everyone oppressed of the devil, and He has been given ALL authority in Heaven AND on earth.

· Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

John 14:6

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

The way:

John 10:7-9

“Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

The Truth:

John 8:31

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The Life:

John 3:35-36

“The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 6:53-58

“Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

John 11:25-26

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
